On 7 june, the Arena di Verona will host a historic international event promoted by the Ministry of Culture. In a matter of hours, an unprecedented 1,500 tickets have been sold and website activity has surged.
It is slated to be the largest Opera event ever staged. On Friday 7 June, the Arena di Verona will host the international “La Grande Opera Italiana Patrimonio dell'Umanità” gala evening. The event promoted by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Fondazione Arena di Verona has yielded remarkable results. Since Amadeus' announcement during Sanremo Festival, more than 1,500 tickets have been sold and there has been an unprecedented spike in website activity.
“The next 100 years of the Arena Opera Festival will commence with a global tribute to the “Practice of Opera Singing in Italy”, acknowledged as a Heritage of Humanity. We could not have hoped for a better initial response”, explains Cecilia Gasdia, General Manager of the Fondazione Arena. “Representing our rich musical heritage on the international stage is a tremendous honour; music has the power to build bridges and break down barriers. We are already hard at work. Hosting the event is an absolute honour for us, and we look forward to sharing it with the widest audience possible”.
“This extraordinary and unexpected response is very exciting. It reflects the enduring popularity of Italian opera”, says Gianmarco Mazzi, Undersecretary for Culture.
This accessible and appealing show is open to all. Tickets are already available online at www.arena.it and www.ticketone.it.
